Providing Relief and Rehabilitation Support to child marriage victims and their families
Early married girls and their families come from poor socio-economic backgrounds and as a result they are even more vulnerable during the pandemic. Through our COVID response, we have reached out to them by providing necessary relief and rehabilitation measures
COVID 19 response activities
Survival and Nutrition
IEC Materials
The infected families include the infected family members in the EMG’s and movement members families, who are in self quarantine, the families where the breadwinner of the family has been lost due to COVID 19. The survival kits and nutrition kits are consists of 14 essential items.
The Lactating and pregnant EMG’s are the most vulnerable in the COVID wave 2 and to ensure the nutritional security of those families, the nutritional kits were distributed to the families. The nutritional kits consist of; promovit calcium powder, Horlicks, multigrain powder, nuts and ghee.
Distributed 10 -13 variety of seeds to ensure the food and nutritional security to the vulnerable and movement member’s family in the pandemic crisis. and access to fresh and nutritional vegetables and green leaves at their doorstep which will provide nutritional security as well as cut down the expenditure.
Six types of posters are prepared and distributed to the communities to aware about the COVID 19 and behavioral practices like; do’s and don’ts, handwashing practices and about corona viruses
Videos are effective communication materials to educate the communities especially children on the COVID 19. The videos are shared through social media platform to bring the COVID appropriate behavior.

Psychosocial Support
The medical kits consist of fingertip pulse oximeter, digital thermometer to monitor the body temperature of the family members.
To support pre and post infection of COVID and post period of vaccination, the supplementary tablets are distributed to the infected families and who are vaccinated. It includes; Reusable N95 face masks, sanitiser 100 ml, Dettol soap and hand towel
The affordable and accessible medicines in the hands of vulnerable and poor families will be challenging in the pandemic environment. The home care kits includes supplementary tablets, digital thermometer, Dettol Soap (Pack of 4), face Mask 10 Nos N95, Steam vaporizer and hand Sanitizer 500mL bottle
Provide the counselling support to the EMG’s and their families to away from the panic and provide the moral support to overcome from the anxiety due to pandemic.
The wellness and stress management sessions were organised to to balance the emotional stability of EMGs.
to break the monotony being isolated during pandemic, the activity books and moral stories books were given to the our EMGs.
Rehabilitation Support
In the COVID 19, many of lost their livelihood, especially young women are victims to the economic hardship. The project aims to create livelihood opportunities through organising the skill trainings on embroidery, artificial jewelry making and saree designing.
The COVID 19 hits the many lives of poor people and lost their economic activities. The project aims to support to startup the economic activities from the young women.
Story
Married at an early age, 17 year old Shilpa and her family struggled during the lockdown. Her husband being. a person with disability lost his job and was not able to find another job during the pandemic.
When basic survival became a challenge, IMAGE provided Shilpa’s family with ration kits which addressed the family’s hunger for 2 months. Along with this, the family was also linked to the Ujjwala Gas Scheme.
