- Awareness Materials on COVID 19 have been produced and distributed:
19 IEC Materials like Brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, posters, audios, Videos etc were produced in local language by the Advocacy Partner, CRT and have been shared with the consortium partners. All partners printed the IEC materials pasted in the government offices and public places for visibility and also distributed the same with the girls and young women in the communities. Approximately 11,635 people reached through IEC Materials in 154 villages from 5 districts;
- Relief Response from Partners:
Under COVID 19 response, from the IMAGE project, Dry rations and personal hygienic kits were distributed to the vulnerable families. 154 villages were covered from 5 districts. 1,228 vulnerable families who are the victims of Early Child Marriage were supported with dry ration kits and 1,150 families were supported with personal safety and hygiene kits.
- Awareness of the Pandemic has been done through the Rangoli Art competition:
Rangoli art (floor art) is one of the best mediums to express. The Rangoli art competition was conducted among the Early Married Girls from 5 districts across Karnataka. Around 128 EMGs and Survivors participated in this competition successfully to educate themselves and to the public on COVID 19 and rewarded prizes and with a certificate of appreciation.
- Field staff training on COVID 19 Awareness:
Discussions and training were facilitated to the field staff over a conference call on safety and security measures to be taken during this lockdown period and on different Government schemes announced from the Central and the State Government for people during this time. These trainings were done on a regular basis by the CRT and external resource persons from different fields. Around 40 field staff were trained through these training.
- Posters and slogan presentation on COVID19 Awareness:
To engage the EMGs and Survivors during this lockdown period, one more competition “Posters and Slogan presentation on COVID 19 Awareness” was facilitated for them on COVID 19 awareness. 139 EMGs and Survivors wholeheartedly participated in this competition and produced beautiful materials for awareness.
- Resource Mobilised from Corporates to address COVID 19:
In response to the Pandemic, resources were mobilised from ATC India and APPI for relief material distribution. Rs. 901,300/- have been mobilised from ATC India and relief materials like Dry Ration and food items and Personal Protective Kits were purchased by our partner SEVAK and distributed among 430 vulnerable families in 10 villages of 3 blocks (Belgavi, Bailhongal and Chikodi) from 2 districts (Belgaum and Chikodi) in the state’s district Karnataka. These vulnerable families are the victims of Early Child Marriage, Survivors widows, women-headed families, aged and physically challenged families. Rs.23,64,040/- have been mobilised from APPI for IMAGE Project.
